My name is Anna Kyjovská. I graduated in 2022 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and I currently live and work in the same city.

In my work I draw inspiration from anyone’s enthusiasm for creative activity. Children’s, naive, or fairground art serves as strong sources of inspiration for me. I often incorporate visually typical elements from these sources, combining them in different ways. Subconsciously, or rather automatically, I also aestheticize them into a form that is my own. My work does not end with the formal adoption of visual elements – I am interested in context, thought concepts and motivations. Painting has primary position in my work, although I frequently augment it with other artistic means that complement the painting. Throughout the process, I like to return to hobby techniques and other methods and approaches that are informed by the main subject matter and inspiration.
